On the night quite a few teams didn’t hang around for the presentation and it would have been difficult to track you down for your bottles, so they were distributed among the marshalls and officials that were still around if no one was there to claim them.
The volunteers do a great job, so I hope you are all OK with that. It’s too late if you aren’t 😀
2019 Results can be found on John Schofield’s website.
I have also done my own version from John’s spreadsheet which shows full results with splits as well as position of each team after each leg. I’ve also done top 10 fastest legs by race category.
Horwich Young Guns took the Mens Team win. Phil Marsden on Leg 2 set the fast leg of the day with Nick Leigh on Leg 1 and Alistair Thornton on Leg 3. The Old Gits from Horwich chased them home and the Solicitors from Blackburn Harriers completed the top 3.
The ladies award went to BFR – Ladies from Barlick made up of Paula Cullen, Jacqueline Collins and Lucy Brown. Chorley CAAT L1 and Preston Ladies A completed the podium for the ladies.
Clayton Junior Boys A won their category and also took the course record from Pendle’s 2013 squad. Charlie Parkinson, Nick Hennessey and Jackson Mackay were followed closely by Horwich Junior Boys (also inside the old record) and Chorley’s CAAT Boys 1.
16 teams in the Junior Boys category was an excellent turnout.
Chorley’s CAAT G1 won the Junior Girl’s category. Olivia Leigh, Finty Royle and Olivia Logan had just over a minute in hand over Clayton Girls A with Chorley getting their CAAT G2 team on to the podium as well.
18 teams in the junior girls category.
A fantastic turnout of 34 junior teams, with a few juniors making up senior teams as well. Over 100 junior’s out on the night. Great to see.
The Mens VET team award went to Darwen Dashers Men Vet A of Ady Humphrys, Martin Oldfield and Andy Smith ahead of BFR Vet Men 1 of Barlick and Chorley CAAT Men 1.
The Ladies VET Team category was won by Accrington Road Runners. Catherine Derbyshire, Lisa Parker and Julia Hartley coming home ahead of Game of Crones from Blackburn Harriers and Chorley’s CAAT L2.
We had two other course records with Katie Hewison setting a new 16:40 Ladies record on Leg 2 for Chorley Mixed and Matthew Ramsden in the junior boys with 14:48 on leg 3 for 3 of a Kind of Blackburn Harriers.
The Course Record information has been updated on the homepage.
I’d also like to give a special mention to Nick Leigh who ran fastest VET leg on Leg 1 for the winning team and then 2nd fast leg on leg 3 for the runner’s up. A fantastic performance.
Thank you to Rossendale and Pendle Mountain Rescue Team who regaulr cover events for us at Witton as well as supporting our fell running across East Lancashire.
£300 of the proceeds have been sent to them as a thank you for their continued support.
A further £703 has been donated to Doing it for Laura, our main beneficiary this year and on behalf of us all, I’d like to wish the Nuttall family the best of luck.
Pete Bland Sports helped yet again with our race numbers so a big thank you to Matt. I also have to express my gratitude to the Blackburn Harriers officials and volunteers yet again. The event went like clockwork and it is their presence that ensures we can put this on.
Hopefully we will be on again next year, last Thursday of June.
